How setup your Google Authorship for your own website

Google’s authorship verification program has the best intentions. It helps to reduce spam and duplicated content. Google find out the content creators by inserting additional images and links into search engine results for their work.

These get results from these three factors: visibility, placement and trustworthiness. Google is now searching for new ways to authenticate quality and good back links. Mostly people are doing lots of social sharing and less back linking to their website after some Google Updates (Penguin & Panda). There is the one way by which Google can find the authentic links on the Internet- through their ”Google Authorship Program”. So if you want to get traffic and higher rank for your website then its really need to you to know who wrote all that great content in your website.

Put your unique content to your Google Plus profile using your verified email address
Keep it in mind that your email is on the same domain as your content. Make sure that each article has an “Author’s Name” so that Google can judge who wrote it. Go to the Google Authorship Page and submit your email.

How to set up Google Authorship by linking your content to your Google Plus profile
Create a link on your website using this tag:

<a href=”[profile_url]?rel=author”>Google</a>

After that go to your Google Plus profile ”About Page” and add your website as a site you are contributing to. Use Google’s structured data testing tool to see if everything worked out for you by entering in the url of one of your articles. It may take up to 14 days for your profile image to appear next to your articles on Google
