Apple held an event to formally
introduce the phone on September 12, 2012. After Apple began taking per-orders
on September 14, 2012, over two million were received within 24 hours. Initial
demand for the iPhone 5 exceeded the supply available at launch on September
21, 2012, and has been described by Apple as "extraordinary", with per-orders having sold twenty times faster than its predecessors. After the
launch of the device, Samsung filed a lawsuit against Apple, claiming that the
iPhone 5 infringes eight of its patents.

custom-designed ARMv7 processor called the Apple A6, an update to Apple's mobile
operating system known as iOS 6, and

2007 & 2008 :TouchFLO and arrival of
Android
This year iPhone release,
most of Apple’s rivals thought using a touchscreen. The only phone which came close to challenging the iPhone for
popularity was the Nokia N95
This was the first year Google came on the scene

2009
& 2010: Making use of Palm, & The Period of Evo, Galaxy S, and Windows
Phone 7
Now, things start to get serious. Palm came back
on the scene with the Pre, one of the better challengers of the year thanks to
its innovative operating system, but a bungled international launch,
questionable build quality, and has limited public interest.
2010 was a massive year for mobile phones, but
the Apple iPhone 4 stood resolute, with its impressive new design and high
resolution Retina display. It was joined by a series of strong competitors such
as the first Samsung Galaxy S, the Nokia N8 and the Google Nexus One.

& 2012: Arrival
of Galaxy & phone compatible to iphone
It is the time when
everything got changed and Apple only has itself to blame, iPhone 4S – a great phone that looked
identical to the iPhone 4 on the outside, and at that a time customer’s and
iphone lovers want some creativity and innovations.
That brings us to the final resolution, and it
has taken five years for someone to realize that to kill the iPhone which
clearly defines that you first needed an army, and only Samsung has managed to
build one strong enough to take it on.
Samsung announced Civil Action against Apple (Litigation):
By
following the iPhone 5, Samsung announced that it was civil action
against Apple for resolving disputes between them. In a statement, Samsung said, it had
"little choice but to take the steps necessary to protect our innovations
and intellectual property rights". Litigation between the two involving
parties has been ongoing and is being fought in several court cases around the
world. Apple has won preliminary
injunctions against the Galaxy
Nexussmartphone co-developed by Samsung. In August 2012, Apple added the Samsung Galaxy S III to a list of models it also claims
